On October 3rd 2017, our second cookbook “Super Tuscan: heritage recipes and simple pleasures from our kitchen to your table” will finally land on the shelves of your favorite book store.
This new work is a bit different from the previous “Extra Virgin”: after 16 years in the US my way of cooking has changed a bit. I have improved my technique a lot, I have mastered heritage recipes and, while I worked real hard to give a sense of history and belonging to the first dishes I cooked, I also found myself adapting to the city landscape of places like Los Angeles and New York City. I have fallen in love with chowder, chicken wings (which we feed to cats in Italy) and even a few pies… and that’s my wife’s fault!
Don’t forget that at the end of the day, as much as I do like to cook Italian, my audience at home is very American! My girls consider Italian food something they want to enjoy while in Italy, but only sometimes at home; in general I have been encouraged to a venture toward alternative flavor combinations and menu items.
At the end of the day, while maintaining the tradition alive, I have finally started to express myself through food a little bit more. New recipes, flavor combinations and personal takes on American staples.
To celebrate “Super Tuscan” I will host a bunch of evens at my test kitchen in Brooklyn through out the end of the year. All menus will be exclusively created with some of these new recipes. These are the “Vegetarian Dinner” dates available in October, we might add a few more but our book press tour is fairly intense… in a few weeks will be able to add more to our calendar.
As always, given the nature of our events and the small size of our room, tickets are transferrable but not refundable. Please double check your calendar before pulling the trigger!
Our shop is not a restaurant but rather a communal dining room. We do not fire our orders based on your arrival time, we do not use heating lamps and we get sad when our food gets cold because a guest is late. Pretend you are coming to dinner at grandma… mine used to smack me if I was late for Sunday supper. We won’t get physical, we will just start without you around 7.15.
We will offer a selection of Prosecco, Red and White wine, Beer and Digestif by the glass or by the bottle.
If you have been saving a bottle of Brunelli for a special occasion feel free to bring it, we charge a $15 corking fee with a maximum of 1 bottle for every two people.
Taxes and Fees are included in this purchase.
Alcohol and Gratuity are not included.
