Walking through the streets of Florence this time of the year is absolutely magical. The mist at times thickens up to around the river banks, sign that temperatures are starting to rise and the ground is warming up. You could find yourself zig-zagging through tight ancient city blocks, step after step, alone, with friends or hand in hand with someone special… suddenly not worrying about the time passing, but rather taking it all in. Fabio Picchi, a most famous Florentine chefs affirms that “Florence is different every day, and every moment of the day…” and he could not be more true. The secret is: when you finally come back to your senses, after all the splendor has sunk in, and you realize that you are hungry, “what would you eat and where?”.
This menu is inspired by the many meals I have enjoyed in the little Trattorias by our city’s beloved river, alone, with friends and a times with someone special.
